וְאִ֗ישׁ מָשַׁ֤ךְ בַּקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ לְתֻמּ֔וֹ וַיַּכֶּה֙ אֶת־מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בֵּ֥ין הַדְּבָקִ֖ים וּבֵ֣ין הַשִּׁרְיָ֑ן וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְרַכָּב֗וֹ הֲפֹ֥ךְ יָדְךָ֛ וְהוֹצִיאֵ֥נִי מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה כִּ֥י הָחֳלֵֽיתִי׃

Lalu seseorang menarik busurnya tanpa maksud tertentu dan memanah raja Israel tepat di celah antara sisik-sisik dan baju zirahnya. Maka raja berkata kepada pengemudi keretanya, “Putar balik keretamu dan bawalah aku keluar dari tengah pasukan, sebab aku sakit.”
